The rule is clear: no message of a political nature.

On Saturday, Palmeiras faced Chelsea in the final of the Club World Cup in Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates).

For this match, the Brazilian players had to wear a jersey on which was written the slogan “for a greener future” (“Por um futuro mais verde”).

But this was not ultimately the case, as reported by the Brazilian media relayed by

A jersey without registration

FIFA prohibits teams from wearing tunics with political inscriptions during the competitions it organizes.

The slogan "too green" was repeated on five horizontal stripes of Palmeiras' white jersey.

A message that corresponds to a club project that aims to have a positive impact on the environment.

The Brazilian players therefore fell back on their old jersey, without a slogan this time.

With this tunic, Palmeiras lost against the English Chelsea on the score of 2 goals to 1 after extra time.
