Ström led after the first, second and third round.

But when everything was to be decided on Sunday, the 25-year-old from Gothenburg, who was chasing her first victory on the European Tour, did not manage to tie the knot.

When the round started on Vipingo Ridge in Kenya, Linnea Ström was three under par and she led two strokes ahead of Spanish Luna Sobrón and three ahead of German Esther Henseleit, who both joined the Swedish team in the leadership ball.

Spread balls

After eight holes, Henseleit was in the race and after ten she was over, when Ström made his third bogey for the day.

Ström spread the balls really well and ended up in a dense bush on the 13th, when she was forced to drip and made a new bogey.

There were then a few more lost strokes for Ström, who did not get the game right at all.

Ström went the round of 77 strokes, five over par and finished the competition two over par in total - which was enough for a third place.

Henseleit vann

Henseleit looked to be heading for a sure victory, but hit the water on the 17th hole.

In the end, it was still the German who took home the victory in the tour, after going the last round of 70 strokes, two under par and thus made his best round so far.

She finished the competition in two under par in total.

Second in Kenya was Spanish Marta Sanz Barrio, who got the best fourth round of all with three strokes under par (69), but in the overall score she ended up on one stroke under par.
