[Beijing Winter Olympics] Hong Kong sets off "Winter Olympics": citizens most "favorite" Gu Ailing and Bing Dun Dun

[Commentary] On the evening of February 11, the Beijing Winter Olympics men's 500-meter short track speed skating preliminaries were held. Hong Kong short track speed skater Zhu Dingwen ushered in his Winter Olympics debut.

Many Hong Kong citizens watched the game at home. They said that although Zhu Dingwen ranked third in the group stage and failed to advance, the fighting spirit of Hong Kong athletes who never gave up is still commendable.

[Commentary] With the Beijing Winter Olympics being held in full swing, Hong Kong has also set off a "Winter Olympics wind".

Many Hong Kong citizens shared their experience of watching the game with reporters from China News Agency through the camera.

[Subtitles] Who is your favorite athlete in this Winter Olympics?

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Li Kaihu

My favorite athlete should be Gu Ailing.

why?

Because she has a western face, but she has Chinese blood.

I most appreciate the words she said, if you don't like me, it's your loss.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Gao Songjie

What I admire most is that she (Gu Ailing) answered questions from foreign media reporters at the press conference, full of atmosphere and love.

Gu Ailing, an 18-year-old beautiful girl who is adorable, bravely challenged in the face of difficulties, and finally embarked on the Olympic arena.

And after he got good results, he did not forget to care about some other competitors, which reflects a kind of sportsmanship.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Ouyang Fengying

Because I really like her (Gu Ailing) confidence, sunshine and hard work, (she is a) beautiful "genius girl".

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Li Haoran

Because besides she (Gu Ailing) is a very strong athlete, I think there is a deeper meaning behind it.

If there is a good cooperative relationship between different countries in the world, our life will actually be better.

[Subtitles] The Winter Olympics mascot "Bing Dundun" became popular, do you know it?

[Concurrent] Hong Kong Citizen Golden Bell

The mascot of the Winter Olympics "Bing Dun Dun" has long been our family's darling, and the two children love it very much.

The whole "BingdunDun" is in the shape of a panda, which is very naive, and the outside is made of our Beijing's authentic snack, Bingtanghulu, such a translucent ice crystal shape.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Gao Songjie

Of course I know the mascot "Bingdundun", because I have one.

First, it's a mascot, and second, it's really cute.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Li Kaihu

(Bingdundun) So cute, because it has a panda face and wears a ski helmet, very cute.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Liang Zhifeng

It (bing dung dun) looks cute too.

In such a large-scale Winter Olympics, it is also very meaningful to promote our country's pandas.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Ouyang Fengying

The Winter Olympics mascot "Bing Dundun" is everywhere.

Even more "piers" are hard to find.

Bing Dundun combines the essence and characteristics of Chinese culture, and will definitely become a goodwill ambassador for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.

[Commentary] What impact will the Winter Olympics bring to Hong Kong?

[Concurrent] Hong Kong Citizen Golden Bell

This Winter Olympics event will surely attract more Hong Kong citizens' attention to ice and snow sports.

At least there are many parents around me, and many "hot moms" have now started arranging their children to learn to skate.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Ouyang Fengying

This Winter Olympics has indeed increased our Hong Kong citizens' understanding and awareness of winter sports, and we can unite and cheer for the players.

[Concurrent] Hong Kong citizen Li Haoran

Through this Winter Olympics, we will bring some new sports or some new sports knowledge or an atmosphere to Hong Kong.

Although Hong Kong is a subtropical region, the Winter Olympics may be a little far from the citizens of Hong Kong. I believe this trend can also encourage more citizens to keep fit, or try more different sports.

[Concurrent] I watched the Winter Olympics in Hong Kong, and I cheered for the Olympic athletes!
