Skellefteå had three straight wins when they faced Malmö, a Malmö that has taken four points in the last two matches.

It was also the away team that started the most briskly but Skellefteå bit into the match.

However, it was Malmö and Ponthus Westerholm who could score the away team's first goal in powerplay.

The home team pressed and could with 80 seconds left make it 1-1 since Rickard Hugg found Linus Karlsson in numerical superiority.

Malmö was pushed back and took on another expulsion before the break.

47 seconds into the second period, Skellefteå was able to take the lead through Joakim Lindström.

There were no more goals in the second period.

2-1 stood before the final period.

Seven goals in the crazy third period

The same show would repeat itself in the third period.

The home team scored again early in the period, after 33 seconds Melker Karlsson made it 3-1 for Skellefteå.

But Malmö did not give up and Marcus Sylvegård was able to set the 3-2 goal after just over five minutes.

Then it was time for Skellefteå powerplay again.

Joakim Lindström found Michael Kapla and the scoreboard showed 4-2.

The home team looked to be heading for a comfortable win in Skellefteå Kraft Arena but not quite yet.

Malmö brought the match to life once again when Lance Bouma netted for the guests.

Three minutes later, roasting Joakim Lindström was able to make it 5-3 in numerical superiority.

But he was not content there.

With five minutes left of the match, he played until Oscar Möller who coolly scored Skellefteå's sixth goal for the match.

In the final stage, Oscar Nilsson was able to put 7-3 in open box which was also the end result.

It is noteworthy that goalkeeper Gustaf Lindvall extended his contract with Skellefteå, until 2026.
