The Football Association announced the appointment of the former Al-Wasl and Shabab Al-Ahly coach, Argentine Rodolfo Aruabarina (46 years old), as coach of the first team, to succeed the former Dutch coach Marvik, who was recently dismissed from his position, while a member of the Board of Directors of the Football Association announced the head of the National Teams Committee. Humaid Al Tayer, announced that Arruabarina’s contract extends until the end of the 2023 Asian Cup.

This came during a press conference held by the Football Association yesterday at its headquarters in Dubai.

Humaid Al Tayer said, "The Football Association considered that Arruabarina is the most appropriate to lead the team during the next stage," noting that regarding dispensing with Marvik, there was a previous recommendation from the National Teams Committee to continue until the end of his contract next March, coinciding with the end of the team's journey in the qualifiers. The World Cup, stressing that this is the most appropriate time to replace him, as he was not up to the ambition.

For his part, Aruabarina confirmed his happiness with this new challenge, and that he will do everything in his power to bring the Emirates football to a position worthy of it, pointing out that he worked in the Emirates and has good knowledge of the players, and formed an idea about the team, by following the matches.

He added, "I have no fear of the new mission with the UAE national team."

Arrobarina revealed that he will form an integrated technical body, indicating that he prefers efficiency over friendship.

Argentinian coach Arrobarina has a rich biography, and has previously led both Al-Wasl and Shabab Al-Ahly clubs.
