Because of Sudan’s match in the African Cup .. Abdullah Saeed retires from international football with the Egyptian national team

Pyramids captain and Egypt national team player, Abdullah Al-Saeed, announced his retirement from international football permanently, while continuing as a player in the ranks of his team Pyramids.

Abdullah Al-Saeed recently participated with the national team in the 2022 African Cup of Nations in Cameroon, which witnessed the loss of Egypt to Senegal in the final match on penalties.

Today, Saturday, Abdullah Al-Saeed published an official statement through his official account on “Twitter”, in which he said: “In the beginning, I hoped that we would return with the cup, in order to make the fans happy after the long journey in the tournament, but God’s destiny and what he wanted did.”

He added: "Praise be to God, I was honored to wear the Egyptian national team shirt and represent my country for many years in all the age groups, youth and youth, all the way to the first team. I thank all the technical and administrative bodies and players, who had the honor to work with them in all stages."

And he continued, "Today I announce my retirement from international football with the Egyptian national team, after all these years, a decision I was preparing for before the tournament, and I hoped that we would be its champions so that it would be the best conclusion to my international career, but thank God anyway."

And he concluded: "In the end, all the best to my brothers, the players and the technical staff during the upcoming important period, in order to qualify for the World Cup."

Abdullah Al-Saeed had participated in the first three matches with the Egyptian national team in the African Nations Cup before sitting on the bench and completely away from the main formation, because of his objection to coach Carlos Queiroz replacing him in the Sudan match, and the player learned from the technical staff that he would not be In the list of the national team that will play the two matches of Senegal next March, in the final stage of the 2022 World Cup qualifiers.

The star of Al-Ahly, Zamalek and the former Egyptian national team, Ibrahim Saeed, sent a fiery message to Abdullah Al-Saeed, after his performance with the national team in the African Cup of Nations.

Ibrahim Saeed said, in televised statements: "I say to Abdullah Al-Saeed, I retire from international football after the African Nations Championship, out of respect for your history in the stadiums with Ismaili, then Al-Ahly and the Egyptian team."

He added: "Out of respect for the people who love you, it is enough for you with the national team, and we are looking for other new elements that will be a strong addition to the team. You will not continue to play the whole life."
