It was scathing criticism that Emil Iversen handed out to the Norwegian national team management on Thursday.

He was poked from the Olympic distance 15 kilometers classic and was responsible for the outcome:

- It feels like I've got a knife in my back.

The 30-year-old stated that he had been promised a place - to finally be sniffed.

The national team manager answers

On Friday, national team manager Espen Bjervig responds to the criticism.

- We take this internally.

It is an internal issue and is handled internally, he tells VG.

Olympic skier Pål Golberg is not as restrained.

- It is not easy for me to talk about, but I wish we could have kept it internally.

It is an energy leak that does not benefit anyone.

It's boring.

"The only thing everyone asks about"

Golberg - who finished eleventh in Friday's competition - thinks that the situation around Iversen is getting unnecessary attention.

- That's the only thing everyone asks about.

It's a little boring.

It is a competition you have been looking forward to and there are things that have nothing to do with skiing that take focus.

We need to do something about it, that's not how I want it.

Finnish Iivo Niskanen won the men's 15 kilometer classic.
