Senegalese star Sadio Mane left Liverpool embarrassed after he refused to shake hands with him during the awards ceremony for the players of the "Terenga Lions" after their victory in the African Nations Cup.

Mane scored the last penalty kick - last Sunday - which gave Senegal the victory over Egypt in the final and crowned the championship title for the first time.

During a ceremony to congratulate Mane and his colleagues in Senegal, President Macky Sall handed the 29-year-old a high medal, amid a large crowd of fans, and while "Sall" extended his hand to shake hands with Mane, the latter moved away and celebrated with the fans.

Mane, who won the award for the best player in the continental championship, repeated the famous celebration of his fellow "Liver" Roberto Firmino.

Social media pioneers interacted with the shot, and one of them commented, "The best part of the celebration was ignoring the handshake and repeating the Bobby (Fermino) celebration."

Senegal witnessed loud celebrations throughout the country to celebrate the victory of its team in the African World Cup.

Mane is known for imitating his Brazilian teammate Fermino's celebration, because the two are friends and usually joke with each other on and off the field.

In 2019, Mane scored a double in Liverpool's victory over Chelsea in the European Super Cup.

Firmino responded to Mane's Instagram post, "Sadio, please don't copy my celebration."

Mane joked, "It's different than you, Bobby! This will be my new celebration of the season. Don't get discouraged."
