Corona removes the Moroccan national team from the Arab Basketball Championship in Dubai

The Arab Basketball Federation confirmed that it had received a letter from its Moroccan counterpart, in which the latter apologized for the Moroccan team's participation in the Arab Men's Team Championship in its 24th edition, which will be hosted by Al Nasr Hall in Dubai from 8 to 16 this month.

The media coordinator of the Arab Federation, Muhammad Al-Homsi, said in a press statement that: "The letter of apology addressed by the Moroccan Federation was based on the injury of nine players in the Moroccan team's list and the presence of four contacts, which means the absence of 11 players out of 14 allowed to participate."

He added, "Last week, the Moroccan Federation confirmed participation in the tournament, after taking all the new measures in place by the authorities in Morocco, to allow travel outside Morocco."

The Moroccan team joined its Syrian counterpart in the list of teams that announced their withdrawal from the tournament, after holding the draw ceremony and issuing match schedules, limiting the number of the current participating teams to seven teams, namely the UAE, Jordan, Lebanon, Somalia, Libya, Algeria and Tunisia.
