Cameroon finished third in the African Nations Cup, after defeating Burkina Faso 5-3 on penalties in the match for third and fourth places.

The original time of the match ended in a 3-3 draw.

Burkina Faso advanced with a goal scored by Steve Yago (24), while the second goal came in the 43rd minute when Issa Kabore passed a cross that hit Cameroon goalkeeper Andre Onana and changed its direction before hugging the net, then Djibril Ouattara scored the third goal for Burkina Faso (49).

On the other hand, the goals of the Cameroonian team were scored by Stephen Bahcoin (71) and Vincent Aboubakar (85 and 87).

In the penalty shootout, the Cameroon national team scored Vincent Aboubacar, Mommy Ngamaleo, Karl Toko Ekambi, Pierre Malong and Ambrois Oyongo.

While Issa Kabore, Soumaila Ouattara and Steve Yago scored for Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Toure missed.

The Burkina Faso team lost to its Senegalese counterpart in the semi-finals 1-3, while the Cameroonian team lost in the semi-finals to the Egyptian team 1-3 on penalties after the end of the original and extra time in a goalless draw.

The tournament concludes on Sunday when the Egyptian team meets its Senegalese counterpart in the final match.
