Sweden has received its first Olympic gold in Beijing.

Walter Wallberg, 21, won a super competition and took a sensational Olympic gold in the humpback.

"Feels great"

At home in Åre, his father Patrik sat, and was, to say the least, impressed.

- It feels fantastic!

After all the hard work he put in during these months he has been injured and had to take over, it feels absolutely incredible!

I did not believe in gold.

I thought the podium, but not gold, he tells SVT, and tells that he understood early on that he had a talented son:

- It was understood quite early.

He joined the national team when he went to ninth grade, and was out at the European Cup in eighth grade and came tenth in the total.

Even then we understood where it was going.

He was so dedicated to the hump all the time.

He has trained so much and is probably the one who trained the most jumps in water.
