The branch made its Olympic debut in Pyeongchang, then without any Swedish contribution.

Oskar Eriksson already has a World Cup gold in the branch together with Anna Hasselborg and has together with Almida de Val taken a Swedish Championship gold and a World Cup bronze.

- There are many teams that are favorites and that take a medal.

The matches can fluctuate and anything could happen at the Olympics, says De Val.

On the men's side, Team Edin has become world champion three times in a row.

Just like for skipper Niklas Edin, only an Olympic gold is missing from the huge medal collection.

They were gold favorites already four years ago but lost narrowly against the USA in the final.

Suddenly, the 30-year-old has two chances in two weeks.

Eriksson / De Val will meet Great Britain in the premiere round already on 2 February.

The mixed doubles final will be played on February 8, the day after Team Edin enters the men's tournament with a match against China.

How would it feel if you suddenly took an Olympic gold in mixed doubles?

- It would feel fantastic.

It's something we have not won.

If I achieve it in mixed doubles, then maybe you can just ride on the scales and take both, says Eriksson.
