Special Olympics stars take a golf course with world champion Harrington

Four of the UAE Special Olympics golf team participated in a training session, accompanied by the champion and captain of the European Ryder Cup 2020, Padregg Harrington, in conjunction with the start of the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship, at the Yas Links Stadium.

The course was attended by Talal Al Hashemi, National Director of the UAE Special Olympics Foundation, where Ali bin Smadiya, Saif Al Qubaisi, Vincent Burr and Gabi Snowden started the session by raising the flag of the UAE Special Olympics team to face Harrington in a three-part challenge, the closest shot to the flagpole installed near the hole and the closest shot Short, low velocity into the pit and challenging Bunker's shot, the Special Olympics team achieved impressive success after winning two out of three missions.


The challenge to Bunker's shot was the highlight of the heated competition, with Harrington praising a bunker technique in which the team performed pro-level skills.

The 17-year-old Emirati started his career in golf three years ago, and just two months after starting his practice of this sport, he represented the UAE at the Special Olympics hosted by Abu Dhabi in 2019.


Harrington's name has long been associated with the Special Olympics, as he was a global ambassador for the organization since 2010.
