Slovenia did not advance to the intermediate round of the European Handball Championship and it began to be rumored that the national team captain Ljubomir Vranjes would be fired.

On Wednesday night, the Slovenian Handball Federation decided that it was time for a change of leadership.

But Vranjes will not be idle, he has already finished with a new coaching assignment.

The former Swedish national team star, who after his career changed to a coach, has signed for German Rhein-Neckar Löwen for the rest of the season.

The team is in twelfth place in the Bundesliga, which the club management is far from happy with.

"I know I'm getting into a challenging situation and I'm looking forward to that.

I am convinced that if we work hard as a team, we will succeed ", says the 48-year-old Swede to the club's website.

The Swedes play Mikael Appelgren, Lukas Nilsson and Albin Lagergren.

CEO Jennifer Kettemann is pleased with the temporary solution:

"I am very happy that we were able to win over Ljubomir Vranjes to help us for the rest of the season.

His knowledge is as undisputed as his reputation as a pusher. ”
