Mana Iwabuchi, the ace of Nadeshiko Japan, who will face the Asian Cup of soccer girls to be held in India from the 20th, was tested positive for the new coronavirus.

The Asia Cup will be qualifying for the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand next year, and Nadeshiko Japan will face Myanmar in the first match on the 21st.

Iwabuchi entered India directly from the UK where his club is located on the 18th, but was tested positive for the new coronavirus on arrival.

According to the Japan Football Association, Iwabuchi was asymptomatic and had no illness, and he had to wait in his room until the test results were revealed, so there were no close contacts among the team members.

28-year-old Iwabuchi is a forward who plays in the Arsenal of the England Super League, and is a Japanese ace who has played 82 games in total and scored 36 goals at Nadeshiko Japan.

Iwabuchi will not leave the team and will aim to return during the tournament.
