Messi returns to group exercises after recovering from Corona

Argentine international Lionel Messi, on Tuesday, returned to group exercises with his French team, Paris Saint-Germain, for the first time since he was infected with the Corona virus at the end of last year.

The striker was seen training with his colleagues in a video posted by the capital club on Twitter, tweeting, "Leo Messi returns to group exercises."

The seven-time Ballon d'Or winner contracted the virus during the holidays in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina, during the winter break for competitions.

Saint-Germain announced on the fifth of this month that he had returned to France after the result of his examination was negative, but that he was not yet ready to return to competitions.

The former Barcelona player missed the French Cup victory over Van, in addition to two league matches (1-1 draw with Lyon and 2-0 win against Brest last Saturday).

And things have not yet happened as desired by Messi and the fans of Saint-Germain since his dramatic move from Barcelona last summer, as he has not yet shown the levels that astonished the world over two decades.

He scored one goal in 11 league matches, but scored five goals in the Champions League group stage.

He has missed 10 league matches since last August, whether due to physical injuries, a late return from the international window with the Argentine national team or the Corona virus.

He returned to individual training last Thursday and said in a message on Instagram, "It has taken me longer than I thought to fully recover, but I am on the cusp of recovery and looking forward to getting back on the field."

It is expected that Messi will return against Reims on Saturday in the league, knowing that Saint-Germain will meet Real Madrid in the first round of the Champions League, with the first leg to be held in Paris on the 15th of next month.
