Sweden is having a hard time with covid-19 in the European Handball Championship.

First, Max Darj and Daniel Pettersson disappeared.

Now even the skilled Niclas Ekberg has been isolated after having tested positive for covid-19.

Ekberg will now miss Thursday's match, where Sweden begins the main round against the Russians.

The national team's video analyst Björn Sätherström has also been tested positive and isolated.

Whether Max Darj can be relevant to be back in play is unclear at present.

"Regarding Max Darj, we have no information yet.

He has been tested during the morning, but we have not received that answer "announces the national team management.

Sagittarius replaces

21-year-old Isak Persson will be in Ekberg and Pettersson's absence will now be right-handed in the squad together with Valter Chrintz, also called in as a replacement since before.

Isak Persson flies in to Bratislava on Wednesday night.

Persson plays for Lugi in the handball league and won the shooting league last season.
