A close friend of Mohamed Salah explains why he was deprived of the squad of the 11 best players in the world

Many observers of world football were surprised by the absence of the Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah, the top scorer of the English team, Liverpool, and one of the three best players in the world, from the award for the best squad in the world, in the “FIFA The Best” awards, which were revealed two days ago.

The "Sport Bible" website stated that while Salah was among the three best players in the world, as the individual award returned to the Polish and Bayern star Lewandowski, while the Argentine star Lionel Messi and Salah was with him, the latter missed the top 11 players, while Messi and Lewandowski were present.

The closest confidant to Salah, his former teammate in Liverpool, Croatian Dejan Lovren, the current Russian Zenit player, explained that the matter is due to Salah not having a "European passport".

Lovren had commented angry about Salah's absence from the "FIFA Pro 11" award, and said: Once again, there is no place for Salah in this award.

He was very surprised by the matter.

Lovren said, according to what was published by “Sport Bible”: “Those who have knowledge of world football know very well that a player like Mohamed Salah should be in the squad of the 11 best international players, but it may have something to do with the fact that he does not have a “European passport.”

Lovren hinted that FIFA prefers stars who have European travel awards over others, and that it is not a matter of sports competition per se.

The matter also affected Chelsea and Senegal goalkeeper Edward Mendy, who, although he won the award for the best goalkeeper in the world, was not among the top 11 players, and was replaced by Italian Donnarumma.
