Frida Karlsson and Maja Dahlqvist are at a publishing house in Livigno, Italy, where they share a room at the hotel.

Frida Karlsson has had a hard fight with Therese Johaug, who until this season has been great in the distance races.

- It is she who has sat on the throne in recent years and it is she you want to beat.

She is the one who has been the best.

It has been a mental barrier and given good self-confidence to beat her, says Karlsson in Morgonstudion.

She broke the Tour de Ski after four stages (out of six) after receiving a three-minute overtime after defeating Jessie Diggins in a sprint quarterfinal.

Did this create any brain ghosts?

- No, I always try to be positive and saw that I got a few extra days at home and now focus on other things, says Karlsson who has no worries about the spread of infection.

"If we got there, it should be pretty safe"

- If we have gone there, it should be quite safe considering how much testing this is.

Once in the Olympic Village, it should be better than being among ordinary people.

When it was corona, everyone else started living like us, she says.

There was a great uproar when tennis star Novak Djokovic was expelled from Australia because he was not vaccinated.

It does not affect Swedish Olympic travelers.

- No, I have not heard much about that.

We are all vaccinated, Dahlqvist and Karlsson fill in:

- We needed to show four negative PCR tests just before departure.

Still believe that the Olympic Village will be the earth's safest place against the corona because everyone will be so tested.

We have daily estimates and bi-daily PCR tests.

Do you have any medal goals?

- Every race you compete in, you have the attitude that you want to win, says Karlsson.

Dahlqvist has won all the sprints in the World Cup this season (even though she was beaten by Jonna Sundling beat her in the Scandinavian Cup in Falun last weekend).

Does it feel strengthening or pressing ahead of the Olympics?

- Do not think about what people from the outside think.

It has gone well so far and I know what I can do.

I want the day in the Olympics and it is more a pressure from myself, says Dahlqvist who is a possible starter in the sprint and sprint relay.
