It was the days before the start of the WC in Lillehammer, Norway, that the alpine skier Ebba Årsjö, who is a big medal jumper in the Paralympics, tested positive for covid-19.

The symptoms have been mild and the hope has always been that she will join the championship later.

Today she thus tested negative and can now travel into Norway.

- I'm so happy right now.

It has been disgusting to sit at home and watch when the girls have competed.

These are the championships you train and toil for every day.

I am ridiculously tagged to go to Norway and compete again, says the 21-year-old in a statement.

The world championship began on Thursday with a downhill race.

Årsjö has missed all speed disciplines but will now have time to run both the slalom, the giant slalom and the parallel slalom.

Earlier in the season, she has won two World Cup victories, one in slalom and one in giant slalom.
