The General Sports Authority announced yesterday the launch of its new organizational structure, in a move aimed at translating the three main pillars that the authority recently announced as a title for the stage, which are “governance, partnership and achievement”, in addition to enhancing flexibility and transparency in work, empowering national expertise and competencies, and giving women greater scope to play a pivotal role. Our announcement of the establishment of the Transformation Management Office within the authority is in line with our vision of strengthening governance, as it provides access to the required competencies and expertise, and gives them the opportunity to assume tasks and responsibilities according to a well-studied practical approach that enhances achievement and builds strong foundations for fruitful partnerships.

Sports development at the heart of the transformation process

The Authority has created the “Sports Development Sector” considering development as one of the most important issues that must be focused on to be a basic pillar on which to build for the next stages. To achieve a comprehensive and integrated development process, three specialized departments have been placed under the umbrella of this sector: “Sports Governance Department”: concerned with governance Institutional operations and control of professional, technical and administrative sports behavior in sports bodies, and work to follow up the commitment of the recognized sports bodies to the bylaws, regulations, circulars, decisions and administrative instructions issued by the authority, auditing all registered sports bodies that receive support from the authority, following up on the implementation of the recommendations contained therein, preparing and following up Implementation of corporate governance standards approved by the Authority for sports entities.

“Community Sports Department”: Its tasks include developing plans and programs to empower trainers and technicians of community sports events in coordination with the Sports Leadership Center. Coordination with government and private agencies and sports entities to include community sports activities in their annual programs.

“Competitive Sports Department”: Its tasks include coordination and cooperation with sports councils and local governments with regard to competitive sports activities that take place in the country, and contributing to supporting the establishment of Olympic sports activities and games, women’s sports, people of determination and e-sports established by the concerned sports authorities, and evaluating the performance of sports authorities With the aim of monitoring the level and performance of players, and discovering and selecting talented athletes.

Keeping up with future visions

The new organizational structure of the General Sports Authority includes the addition of many offices and departments that enhance the integration of roles internally, and in managing the relationship with the partner system at the level of the local sports sector. for the Authority.

The list of newly developed offices and departments includes the “Internal Audit Office” responsible for carrying out internal audit work in accordance with the accepted rules and standards to verify the extent to which organizational units comply with the application of the financial and administrative laws, regulations and regulations in force in all the authority, and the “Sports Leadership Center” responsible for enabling National leaders by providing courses and training programs for sports bodies in the country with the aim of developing the efficiency of the administrative, technical and executive body.
