Frölunda has won the Champions Hockey League four times - and is chasing another final.

Rögle is in the CHL for the first time - and thus stands with one leg in the final after victory in the first semifinal with 5-3 at home in Ängelholm last Tuesday.

Rögle has established itself as a top team in Swedish hockey in recent seasons, after many years of yo-yo between Hockeyallsvenskan and SHL.

Last season, Rögle played the Swedish Championship final against Växjö - and now the team is chasing the final in the CHL.

Many believe that it is the American twin brothers, Chris and Cam Abbott who are behind the success in Ängelholm.

Chris is the sports director and Cam coach.

- The last four years, the club has been what the city deserves, and developed into a team that people can feel proud of, says Chris Abbott to SVT Sport.

"Know what is required"

The goal is to play home titles.

- We do not have victory banners on the ceiling yet, but we know what is required.

A team like Skellefteå has for the past 15 years shown that it is possible, and so have Frölunda and Brynäs.

Many clubs have had great success, and know what it takes.

And we are on our way there, says Chris Abbot.

The second semi-final in the CHL between Tappara and Munich has been postponed due to covid infection and will be played at a later time.

SVT broadcasts tonight's semi-final from Scandinavium in Gothenburg directly and comments are made by Chris Härenstam, with Nils Ekman as expert.

The host is Marie Lehmann and the expert in the studio is Håkan Loob.

The broadcast starts at 18.50 on SVT2 and Play, before continuing on SVT24 and Play from 20.00.
