Álvaro Morata, forward for Juventus and the Spanish team, today expressed his sadness for Miguel Ángel, the ten-year-old boy who died of a brain tumor, to whom he had dedicated the goal against Sweden that sent Spain to the World Cup in Qatar .

"One of the news that I would never have wanted to receive, but a great lesson that I have for life. The strength of a great family and having been able to share a few moments with you," Morata wrote on his Instagram account.

"Your star will always be there and will travel with me wherever I go. Rest in peace Miguel Ángel," he added.

Morata, who has played for Juventus since 2020, had supported Miguel Ángel and had a strong emotional bond with him and his family.

Along with him, the Spanish team also published a message on their social networks in which he assures that the memory of Miguel Ángel "will always be an inspiration."

Little Miguel Ángel Pérez, only 10 years old, died a victim of the brain tumor he suffered, as confirmed yesterday by his football club, CD Alhaurino.

Álvaro Morata, after leaving as best he could the mountain of companions under which he was buried after scoring the winning goal against Sweden, looked for one of the utilleros and

picked up a star of those that crown the magic wand

of the fairies.

He looked at the camera and said, "For you!"

Right afterwards, the Spanish Federation, on its official Twitter account, wrote: "You have been our star, Miguel Ángel. This Morata goal is for you."

Thanks to the Small Wish Foundation, the boy was able to meet Morata and Unai Simón before the game.

Miguel Ángel told the Juventus forward that he would score against Sweden, and gave him that magic wand.

Morata promised him that if he scored, he would dedicate it to him.
