Ryo Tateishi, a bronze medalist of the men's 200m breaststroke at the London Olympics, who retired in 2017, announced that he will return to active duty for the first time in about five years.

Tateishi is 32 years old from Kanagawa prefecture.

He won the bronze medal in the men's 200-meter breaststroke at the 2012 London Olympics.

After suffering from injuries, the Rio de Janeiro Olympics missed the national team and retired from active duty at the end of the Japan Championships held in April.

On the 6th, Tateishi announced that he would return to active duty for the first time in about 5 years through his new affiliation. It was a regret that I decided to retire early. I will do my best to train and feel like I've done everything. "
