Loeb reduces the time difference with Al-Attiyah in the Dakar Rally

Bahrain Red Xtreme team driver, Sebastien Loeb Al-Ghann, stressed the Qatari racer Nasser Al-Attiyah, the leader of the most demanding Dakar Rally in the world.

With South Africa's Henk Lattigan winning stage five, Sebastian and co-chair Fabian Lorken cut the total lead of Attiyah down to 35 minutes 10 seconds, with seven other special stages remaining from the rally totaling 2,373 km.

The fifth stage was also excellent for Bahrain Red Extreme drivers Orlando Terranova and co-driver Dani Oliveira, who climbed to eighth overall in a Prodrive Hunter car and set the ninth fastest time, one point behind Al-Attiyah.

After Bahrain Red Extreme worked all night until 6am to fix Nani Roma's car after it overturned the day before, Nani Roma recovered well to score a 13th best time on desert sand and rocks.

“We had a very competitive battle alongside Nasser, and I got ahead of him and he beat me, and I think we faced each other fifteen times during the stage,” Loeb said. It will happen tomorrow."
