Strange scenes unfolded at the Renato Dall'Ara Stadium in Bologna on Thursday.

Visiting Inter warmed up and prepared for kick-off - but no resistance ever appeared.

Bologna announced on Wednesday that four players in the squad tested positive for covid-19 and therefore the whole team was ordered to be quarantined.

But despite that, the league did not want to postpone the match.

Inter are therefore likely to be awarded a 3-0 victory.

Another three matches - Atalanta – Torino, Salernitana – Venezia and Fiorentina – Udinese - on the thirteenth day risk ending in the same way.

Torino, Salernitana and Udinese have been hit hard by the virus lately and will not be able to play their respective matches, although the matches have not been postponed yet.

In the early Serie A match, which actually ended, Albin Ekdahls lost Sampdoria 1-2 in the home match with Cagliari.

The experienced striker Manolo Gabbiadini gave the home team the lead with a delicious half-volley shot in the 18th minute.

But Cagliari turned in the second half.

First, Alessandro Deiola equalized by hitting his own return into the net, and 20 minutes from the end, Leonardo Pavoletti got an open position from close range which he managed well.

Like onions on salmon, Sampdoria midfielder Antonio Candreva also picked up a red card in the final stages of the match.
