Earlier, seven ladies had already received their tickets.

Kalla finished in 16th place in the Tour de Ski which ended yesterday and was second best Swedish after Ebba Andersson who was second.

Charlotte Kalla has previously competed in three Olympics.

There she has won three golds (one in each championship) and taken six silver, and she is the reigning Olympic champion in skiathlon.

- I feel that I am on the right track and look forward to starting in my fourth Olympic Games.

Now I will land at home after an intense period of competitions and training at high altitude.

Now I have full focus on preparing in peace and quiet, with training and recharging for future challenges, says Kalla.

The only real candidate who stood against Kalla was sprint-oriented Johanna Hagström, who won the points competition in the Tour de Ski.

But she had given up hope in advance of getting a place.

- No, I have to aim for new goals.

One is to try to take the first VC victory and the sprint cup is quite interesting.

It is a new year with new opportunities, Hagström said during the Tour de Ski to SVT Sport.

- There is one place left but it is a distance place.

I want to go sprint and want to go to the Olympics to take a medal.

I do not want to go there for a top 20, 30 position.

It is in the sprint that I can take a medal, Hagström continued.
