The corona worries at FC Bayern Munich are getting bigger and bigger shortly before the Bundesliga start of the second half of the season.

On Tuesday, Leroy Sané and Dayot Upamecano also tested positive for the corona virus, as the Bundesliga club reported in the afternoon.

"Both players are fine, they are in domestic isolation," said the Munich team.

There are now eight corona cases in the ranks of Munich professionals.

The all-clear, however, was given to defender Josip Stanisic, as the German press agency learned.

For all three actors, the diagnosis was not completed the day before - they had to retest on Tuesday.

As things stand, coach Julian Nagelsmann will have to open the second half of the Bundesliga season on Friday against Borussia Mönchengladbach with a rump squad.

On New Year's Day, Bayern reported the infections of Maldives vacationer Manuel Neuer, Kingsley Coman (Dubai), Corentin Tolisso (France) and Omar Richards as well as co-trainer Dino Toppmöller.

Lucas Hernández and Tanguy Nianzou followed on Monday.

If there are more corona cases at Bayern, there is a risk that the game will be canceled on Friday.

As soon as a club has fewer than 15 eligible players (including at least one goalkeeper), the DFL can grant a request to cancel a match.

All clubs had agreed on this regulation.
