The story you want to forget.

The penalty with a capital S that could have crowned a 16-year national team career.

Caroline Seger was an effort, a single penalty in from an Olympic gold.

In SVT Sport's annual column, Stina Blackstenius looks back on the Olympic final.

- She is an incredibly good person.

The best team captain I've ever had.

She sees and hears everyone at the same time as she takes great responsibility on the pitch.

We all knew that with this last kick we can win and take an Olympic gold, she says.

Stina Blackstenius scored goals for Sweden during the Olympics.

And in the final, she gave Sweden a dream position - but Canada equalized on penalties.

Finally, she stood there, Caroline Seger, deciding her feet.

- Is there anyone I had managed to do that goal, it is precisely Seger.

And I think we had all treated her to that moment - to be the one who shoots us to an Olympic gold, says Blackstenius.

"We take it back"

As you know, it was "only" a silver.

- To be so close to an Olympic gold but still not reach all the way.

It felt like someone was close to putting the gold medal around one's neck, but at the last moment saying "we take it back", says Blackstenius.
