(Winter Olympics asks "Ji") Was the "youngest" ski competition originally related to surfing?

China News Service, Shijiazhuang, January 1. In 1998, the 18th Winter Olympics was held in Nagano, Japan. Snowboarding was included in the official Winter Olympics competition and became the "youngest" skiing competition in the Winter Olympics.

Snowboarding originated in the United States in the 1960s, and its production was related to skateboarding and surfing.

It is understood that at that time, a skier imitated a surfboard on the sea and made a ski for his child, named "Snafir", which means surfing on the snow.

The so-called "snowboarding" at the time was actually just letting children step on the skis and pull ropes to slide on the snow.

In the 1970s, through further improvement of gameplay and equipment, snowboarding gradually emerged and was listed as an official event at the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics.

The veneer is inherently flexible, so players can easily make many jumps, vacancies and spins, and can be popular on U-shaped grooves, various irons, and jumping platforms, even on wide and straight slopes. Doing giant slalom and small slalom is also a bit more free and easy than skiing.

The snowboard competition of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics will be held in Yunding Ski Park and Shougang Ski Jump, resulting in 11 gold medals.

Among them, Yunding Ski Park conducts all snowboard competitions except for the men's and women's big jumping platforms.
