Three players in the Algerian national team were infected with “Corona” .. including the Arab Cup star

Algeria national football team coach Djamel Belmadi confirmed, on Thursday, that three players were infected with the “Covid-19” virus, including striker Youssef Belaili, who is in quarantine in Doha, where the Greens are attending the African Cup of Nations finals in Cameroon.

Belmadi explained in a press conference published by the Algerian Federation website that the matter concerns striker Youssef Belaili and defenders Mohamed Amine Togai and Hussein Ben Ayada, noting that they are "in good health and do not suffer from any symptoms."

He added that Blaili can be restored and joined the training "today or tomorrow" after the end of his quarantine period in Doha, while Toqai and Ben Ayada did not leave Algeria.

The Algerian coach complained about the lack of numbers in the preparatory camp, especially for players active in the European Championships, such as Riyad Mahrez (Manchester City, England), Rami Ben Sabaini (Monchengladbach, Germany), Ismael Bennacer (AC Milan) and Youssef Attal (Nice, France).

The members of the national team, who were in Algeria on Monday, moved to Qatar, where they are expected to play two friendly matches, the first on January 1 against Gambia and on the fifth of the same month against Ghana, before moving to Cameroon directly from Qatar, according to what the Algerian Federation announced.

"Given the difficulties in which preparations are taking place due to the absence of players, we are considering the possibility of canceling the Gambia match," Belmadi said.

"I am not a magician, where do I bring players to form a national team," he said.

Belmadi summoned 28 players to participate in the finals of the African Nations Football Cup between January 9 and February 6 in Cameroon.
