The 34-year-old Conway has Olympic, World Cup and European Championship medals on his merit list.

Among other things, she took the World Cup bronze in Tokyo 2019 before she announced earlier this year that her career was over.

She has also managed to be the coach of the Scottish national team before she now comes to Sweden.

- I long to get to know the active people and start working with them in January, she says in a press release.

Former national team manager Robert Eriksson says:

- I am extra happy that we managed to get Sally to Sweden as I believe that her experience from the absolute world top can inspire and support our active in their development.

New organization

Eriksson, who led Sweden through three Olympics, will now have the role of High Performance Director in the new organization.

Conway will be one of three league captains who will work with those active against the Olympics and Paralympics 2024 and 2028. Conway will work close to Viktor Carlsson who will be the second league captain.

The British are primarily responsible for the investment towards the 2024 Olympics, while Carlsson is responsible for the investment towards the 2028 Olympics.

- We will be facing a generational change and then it is a good idea to also pick up a new organization to start the journey together towards 2024 and 2028, says Robert Eriksson.
