Happy news for Syrian fans in the UAE

Syria will play its remaining home matches in the Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifiers in the United Arab Emirates instead of Jordan, according to what the Asian Football Confederation announced on Thursday.

"The AFC confirms that Syria will continue to play its home matches in the first group of Asian qualifiers for Qatar on neutral ground," the Confederation said.

He added, "Therefore, the next match between Syria and South Korea will be held on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in the United Arab Emirates."

Syria is looking for its first victory in the decisive third round, as it is bottom of the group with two points from two draws and four losses.

On the other hand, Iran and South Korea came close to booking the two direct qualifiers from the group, with the first (16 points) leading by two points from Korea, which is 8 points away from the third Emirates and looking for a play-off.

Syria has four matches left. It will defeat the Emirates on January 27 at Al Maktoum Stadium in Al Nasr Club in Dubai, then face South Korea, before defeating Lebanon on March 24 and concluding its campaign against Iraq on March 29.

Last week, the temporary committee of the Syrian Federation sent an official letter to the International Federation of the Game "FIFA" requesting the transfer of its home matches in the World Cup 2022 qualifiers from Jordan to the Emirates.

And the new coach of the Romanian national team of Syria, Valerio Tetsa, asked to change the supposed home land from Jordan to one of the Gulf countries to provide the appropriate climate.
