Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson chased revenge after yesterday's sprint when it was 10 kilometers classic as the second stage of the Tour de Ski on Wednesday.

Both opened strongly and after the first quarter of the race the duo was the fastest of all.

There was less than a second difference between them, with Frida Karlsson a little sharper.

Then the roles changed.

Andersson continued to ride fast and Karlsson lost seconds against his colleague.

Ebba Andersson crossed the finish line as number one and had to wait from the leadership chair to see how the biggest threat, the Finnish Kerttu Niskanen, would end the race.

Niskanen opened weaker than Andersson but keyed in during the race.

At the last intermediate time, Niskanen had both taken in and passed Andersson with a margin of ten seconds.

A lead that was extended to 18 seconds at the finish line.

Frida Karlsson is in fifth place, 45 seconds behind Niskanen.
