The boys' JVM has largely the last 24 hours been about other things than the game on the ice.

Tuesday night's meeting between the USA and Switzerland was canceled after positive tests in the American team, which meant that Switzerland was awarded the victory with 1-0.

But games in the rink would be hours later.

Canada, which got the best possible start in the premiere round through a 6-3 victory against the Czech Republic, took on Austria.

And it was a new win for the Canadians.

It only took five minutes - then the numbers started to drop.

Kent Johnson opened the scoring before Lukas Cormier extended the lead to 2-0 a minute later.

Logan Stankoven also wanted to find his way into the goal record and eight minutes in it was 3-0.

Then it was time for young Connor Bedard, who through the match showed evidence of soft wrists and fine technique at the end, to step forward and offer hard-to-beat hockey.

He first put 4-0 in powerplay mode after a seemingly well-rehearsed combination that found its way all the way into the net.

Bedard then stayed ahead again a minute later when Austria lost the puck centrally.

A clap-clap game meant that Bedard could only put in 5-0.

Bedard then scored his third for the evening in the second period and Austria scored a consolation goal through Lukas Necesany.

The figures then deducted further in the last period.

Cole Perfetti, who was responsible for two performances, had to score a goal himself and Berard was served to a fourth goal for the night.

The full hit makes Berard the youngest ever to reach four goals scored in the JVM, according to the IIHF's Twitter account.

- He has such soft hands so it's unbelievable, says SVT Sports expert Håkan Loob.

The final result of the match was then 11-2.

Canada meets Germany next and Austria meets the Czech Republic.
