On December 27, the Information Office of the Beijing Municipal People's Government held a series of press conferences in Beijing's host cities for the 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics-Beijing Ice and Snow Sports Development Special.
Liu Xiaoming, deputy director of the Beijing Municipal Education Commission, said that in recent years, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission has strengthened overall planning, focused on coordination, and implemented multiple measures simultaneously to comprehensively promote the popularization of campus ice and snow sports.
Since 2017, the Beijing Municipal Education Commission has continued to carry out the "Ice and Snow Entering the Campus" series of popularization activities, produced animations of ice and snow sports, collected excellent lessons of ice and snow sports, and gradually brought ice and snow sports into the campus and integrated the curriculum, and achieved initial results.
Up to now, popularization activities and experience classes have entered more than 600 schools in 16 districts, covering more than 500,000 students.
According to statistics, the number of primary and middle school students in Beijing on ice and snow has reached nearly 2.1 million.
