The Covid-19 multiplex in the Premier League is doing well, thank you for it.

After the former glory of Liverpool and current manager of Aston Villa, Steven Gerrard, declared positive on Saturday and absent from the sidelines for the next two games against Chelsea (Sunday) and Leeds (Tuesday), it's Patrick's turn Vieira to throw in the towel.

Crystal Palace has just announced that its French coach has tested positive for Covid-19 and that he will therefore not be on his team's bench for the match against Tottenham, this Sunday, at 4 p.m.

He will be replaced by his deputy Osian Robert.

Three Boxing Day matches postponed

The very outfit of this London derby seemed in the hot seat, according to the British press, but the Premier League refused Palace's request to postpone this Boxing Day match.

For now, thirteen meetings, including three this weekend counting for the 19th day, have been postponed for health reasons in England in recent weeks, while the United Kingdom is hit hard by the resurgence of cases of Covid-19 linked in particular to the identification of a new variant called Omicron.
