The Tour de Ski begins with a freestyle sprint in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, on Tuesday, but Burman will apparently not start.

- I have no comment about it right now, says national team coach Anders Högberg to Aftonbladet.

Burman has been pulled with long-term back problems and already has an Olympic place ready after the great results last season when he was Sweden's best distance skier on the men's side.

He would compete in the Tour de Ski, which has been shortened to six stages from eight to better fit into the Olympic program, in order to be better prepared for the Olympics, which will be inaugurated on 4 February.

According to Aftonbladet, Gustaf Eriksson will replace.

SVT Sport has contacted national team manager Anders Byström for a comment.
