It was during Christmas Eve that the IIHF announced that the JVM for U18 girls would be canceled.
The reason is, according to the International Federation, the new coronary restrictions.
Now the Swedish junior national team has written an open letter to the IIHF in which the enormous dissatisfaction is expressed.
The intention of the letter is for the association to find new playing dates.

The junior national team points out that they accept and have respect for the pandemic, but question how the boys' JVM, which begins on December 26, can be carried out unhindered.

We believe that it is a question of gender equality and this is injustice ”.
The open letter questions how the IIHF with such decisions can live up to the ambition to get young girls to continue playing hockey.

The championship was supposed to take place between 8-15 January, in Linköping and Mjölby.
