Arsenal coach Mikel Arteta called on his players to be "committed and respectful", stressing that he does not like to impose his authority in a dictatorial manner.

Arteta's comments came after Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was withdrawn from the captaincy last week, for violating the rules of discipline at the London club.

Aubameyang, who extended his contract with the club for an additional 3 years last year, was deprived of the captaincy, before his team's 2-0 victory over West Ham United earlier this month, after returning late from a trip abroad.

"I do not impose my authority through dictatorship or cruelty," Arteta said - in statements reported by British media - "I only ask for one thing, which is commitment and respect."

"If this is not achieved at this high level, I will pack my bags and go somewhere else, because this is the minimum that I am entitled to."

Arsenal is ranked fourth in the Premier League table, and will meet outside its stadium with Norwich City, who are bottom of the standings, on Sunday.
