The 53-year-old - who is the only Swedish driver who has ridden the Dakar Rally with both a motorcycle and a car - will drive together with the German Annett Fischer in the competition class T3, in an off-road car.

The duo competed together for the first time less than two weeks ago, in the World Cup in desert rally in the Saudi Arabian Hail Rally.

"I did not dare to think that I would have to go to Dakar again.

When Annett asked if I wanted to go to Dakar and I passed the tests, I hardly thought it was true.

I have had some tough years with injuries and operations, so now being able to line up with a factory team feels absolutely fantastic.

But it just proves that hard work pays off - I have really struggled to get back ", says Annie Seel in a press release.

Fischer, on the other hand, will run his fifth Dakar Rally.

Mattias Ekström, Sebastian Eriksson and the legendary Eje Elgh are already the Swedes who are registered for the competition, which will be decided in Saudi Arabia in 2022 between 2 and 14 January.
