The match between Seattle and Arizona, which was to be held the night before Wednesday, Swedish time, has been postponed indefinitely, the North American professional league announces.

The match between Pittsburgh and New Jersey, also scheduled for the night before Wednesday, has also been canceled as New Jersey has had many covid cases.

Both Seattle's and New Jersey's last games before the Christmas break have already been canceled.

The corona virus has spread like wildfire through the North American ice hockey league in recent times, and many teams have already postponed all matches until the Christmas break.

On the night before Tuesday Swedish time, it was also clear that no American and Canadian teams will meet until the second day.

Christmas break in advance

Detroit, Boston, Nashville, Calgary, Colorado and Florida have previously taken Christmas leave prematurely.

The Christmas holiday, which was to last December 24-26, is thus extended throughout the NHL and now applies from Wednesday.

When the players return to the clubs on December 26, everyone will be tested for covid-19.

Because so many games have been postponed - so far there are more than 40 - it is unclear whether the NHL players will participate in the Beijing Olympics in a month and a half.
