Rashid bin Humaid participates in the "FIFA" summit to discuss the proposal for the "World Cup every two years"

Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, President of the Emirates Football Association, and Secretary General of the Federation, Mohammed Abdullah Hazam Al Dhaheri, participated in the FIFA Summit, which was held yesterday via the “Zoom” video technology, in the presence of Gianni Infantino, President of the International Federation, and the heads of member national federations. Discussing the proposal to hold the World Cup every two years instead of four years, after a study submitted by the research companies "Nielsen" and "Open Economics".

The summit discussed the timetable for men's and women's competitions for the years 2023 and 2024 at the level of clubs and national teams, as FIFA focuses in its new proposals on the economic nature.

FIFA has given the continental federations and member national federations the opportunity to study these proposals, provided that they will be discussed at the next General Assembly scheduled for next March.
