The stable, which will be called Motala AIF Serneke Allebike, will be part of the International Cycling Union, UCI, Continental Team, which belongs to the third category of competitions.

- We want to give the talented cyclists we have a chance to move on and as we see it is the only chance then to start a continental team and through it get out to competitions in early spring in Europe to get the chance to the big competitions during season, says Mats Harring, who alongside Wahlqvist is sports director in a press release.

The highest ranking of competitions within the UCI is the World Tour, which includes the major Grand Tour races with the Tour de France and Giro Italia.

It is followed by Pro Continental and then the third category Continental where Motala is included, where certain teams that are run on a non-profit basis are included.

- So at the end of the year and the planning, I must say that we have a very good competition program according to the conditions and budget we have, say the sports managers Wahlqvist and Harring.
