The American NHL is shaken by covid problems and in recent days the league reported that no American and Canadian teams will be pitted against each other until the second day.

In recent times, it has been very unclear whether there will be NHL players in the Beijing Olympics.

Former super player Henrik Lundqvist, who announced in August that he is ending his career, highlights the league's work around the current situation.

- I think the NHL so far has done well.

It is the last few weeks that it has been tough to get to the trips between the USA and Canada, he says at a press conference.

- I hope and keep my fingers crossed that it goes our way and that we get the NHL players in place.

How do the players reason now?

It is personal how you feel about a situation like this.

The Olympics are among the coolest you can be a part of, but there are special conditions now with the pandemic and the restrictions that exist.

I'm not in those shoes now so it's hard to know how the players feel.

Henrik Lundqvist was drafted by the New York Rangers in 2000 and played in the club between the years 2005 and 2020.
