"It was not a fight, but an attack": skater Solovyov was hospitalized with a traumatic brain injury

However, instead of starting layouts on Tuesday, December 21, the main topic of discussion was something completely different: Olympic champion Dmitry Solovyov was beaten in Moscow.

He stood up for his common-law wife, two-time European curling champion Anna Sidorova and her friends.

Now the skater is in the Botkin hospital in a state of moderate severity.

The incident took place at a karaoke club in the city center on Monday night.

According to some reports, the couple, together with Anna's friends, celebrated the 30th anniversary of the Russian Curling Federation.

The company was already planning to go home and went out into the street, where three young men were standing.

According to Sidorova, one of her friends asked them for a lighter, after which a verbal skirmish began.

“I always try to avoid such moments, so I didn't want to talk.

They continued to speak not in the best way about us, and at that moment Dima came out of the karaoke.

He made a remark to the guys, asked them not to talk to girls like that, stood up for us, "the Match TV curler quoted as saying.

Judging by the published videos of the incident, during the conversation, the skater made a forward movement with his hand towards one of the guys, which led to a response.

The athlete was pushed hard in the chest, and he fell backwards, hitting his head on the door of the institution.

The company swooped down on him.

According to Sidorova, this was not a fight, but an attack on Solovyov.

“They didn't touch the girls, but he got under the arm.

We calmed these guys, among the attackers there was one most adequate guy who spoke culturally, did not beat anyone, tried to separate and solve everything with a dialogue.

When the conflict was already settled, two aggressive young men returned and began to insult Dima again.

At that moment, I realized that it “smells fried” and started filming everything on my phone, ”the athlete added.

Later, a video appeared on the network, which was filmed by Sidorova.

It captures how one of the young people finds out the relationship with the athlete.

His friend notes: a friend is now talking to the winner of the Olympics, who played for Russia and defended the country's honor in competitions.

However, an aggressive guy is not in the mood for a peaceful dialogue.

When Solovyov makes a movement with his finger in his direction, trying to point to the camera, which is filming what is happening, he immediately uses his fists.

A friend comes to his aid.

According to Sidorova, after they managed to separate the guys, Dmitry called the police.

“The outfit arrived very quickly, three minutes later.

The two who beat Dima tried to escape.

The third went to karaoke for his things.

He said that it had nothing to do with it, and did not know the phones of his friends.

He was asked to go to the department, and at that moment those who had escaped returned for jackets and wallets.

They were detained and taken to the police station, ”the athlete explained.

In turn, Solovyov and Sidorova went to a medical facility to film the beatings.

However, an ambulance was immediately called to the emergency room, which took the Olympic champion to the neurosurgical department of the Botkin hospital.

According to the manager of the skater Elena Bolotova, the athlete is conscious and can speak.

“Dmitry is still in serious condition, doctors are working with him.

Internal head injuries were revealed, a concussion was found, and a lot of bruises all over the body.

He is conscious, he can speak.

Dima is a superintelligent, calm and well-mannered guy who never goes into conflict in his life, and he has never been seen in them, "Sport-Express quotes Bolotova as saying.

Later, the doctors' diagnosis became known: CT examination showed moderate subarachnoid hemorrhage due to traumatic brain injury.

According to Match TV, the lesion is insignificant, up to 1 mm, however, even in such cases, the mortality rate is 10% before going to the clinic.

The suspects are taken to the police. According to some reports, 18-year-old Vladislav Smirnov and his peer Vladislav Yakovtsev were detained. Law enforcement agencies establish all the circumstances of the incident. According to lawyer Andrei Knyazev, according to the law, the detainees are threatened with an article for hooliganism, despite the push from Dmitry. 

“The indictment usually says that people started hitting, using a minor reason for a quarrel.

The figure skating world reacted emotionally to what happened.

Olympic champion Tatyana Navka called the skater a real man who defended his wife, and the detainees, according to the athlete, should be fully punished.

“I'm just shaking with rage.

As Dmitry's wife says, one of these villains is engaged in a combat sport.

He must be deprived of everything ... At the end of December, the skater must participate in our show with Alina Zagitova.

According to a RIA Novosti source in law enforcement agencies, the police opened a criminal case under part 2 of article 112 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Intentional infliction of moderate harm to health by a group of persons”).

The chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to petition for the transfer of inspection materials from the police to the proceedings of the bodies of the Main Investigation Department of the TFR in Moscow.
