This weekend, Peng Shuai claimed in a video interview that she had never accused China's former Deputy Prime Minister Zhang Gaoli of sexual abuse.

The statement came after she made such accusations against him in early November, then on the social media platform Weibo.

In the last month and a half, questions about the Chinese former world setter in double well-being have been many since she disappeared after the accusations via Weibo.

Peng has appeared and conducted several interviews in the meantime, but the WTA has not accepted the statements as reliable.

The tennis tour has also chosen to cancel all its planned competitions in China and Hong Kong due to concerns about Peng.
