Steve Kerr has a solid track record both as a player and coach.

As a player, he won five NBA titles, four of which with the Chicago Bulls in the 1990s, and as a coach, he has won three more titles.

Since 2014, he is the coach of Golden State.

They are currently number one in the NBA and Kerr also led the edition that is considered by some to be the greatest basketball team of all time - in the 2015/2016 season, they won 72 of 82 regular season games.

During the Tokyo Olympics this summer, Kerr was the assistant coach behind the legendary Gregg Popovich.

Now he takes over the main responsibility before and during the games in Paris 2024.

- It is an exciting opportunity and I am very much looking forward to this challenge, he says.
