Athletes have identified eight reasons behind the decline of UAE football in the recent period, which caused the first team to exit from the quarter-finals of the Arab Cup 2021 and its results in the 2022 World Cup qualifiers, and the failure of the teams of the age groups during their recent foreign participation, as well as the failure of clubs during their participation in The Asian League, and the UAE League classification fell during the last classification of the Asian Football Confederation to the ninth place in Asia, pointing out that these reasons consist in a problem with planning, organization, regulations and laws for the game, and not placing the right person in the right place, and not directing the financial exchange of clubs correctly The application of professionalism incorrectly, in addition to the large number of foreign players and residents of the professional league, which weakens the opportunity for the citizen player to play, in addition to the failure of the football academies in the country, despite their large number, in providing clubs with distinguished players and the absence of interest in youth competitions.

And they told «Emirates Today»: "The problem of the decline of the Emirates football is a very thorny issue, and each of the Football Association, the Professional League and the clubs bears responsibility for the frightening decline that is happening, so it needs a complete restructuring in all aspects."

The former national team coach, Dr. Abdullah Misfer described the decline of the Emirates football at all levels as a big, thorny and interconnected issue, pointing out that part of the problem is borne by the clubs and another part is borne by the Football Association by organizing competitions, and another part also relates to the professional system itself and the professional league system with the presence of professional players and the large number of players Residents

Misfer added: "The problem of the Emirates football is interconnected so that the defect cannot be described in a particular party without the other. For example, there is a problem in the competitions of the age groups and the way they are organized, as these competitions did not provide the game with good talents, in addition to the fact that some clubs lack a gradation system. For players from schools to juniors and the first team, in addition to the fact that despite the large number of football academies in the country, they did not present any talents.”

For his part, the former head of the Football Association’s Competitions Committee and technical analyst, Muhammad Matar Ghorab, diagnosed the UAE football problem as “an administrative and organizational problem in all aspects, due to the lack of the right man in the right place, and the lack of specialized people in the institutions that run the game and who have the ability to To take the decision and direct the financial expenditure in the right direction, in addition to poor planning and poor organization, considering that all of these matters do not help in highlighting the impact of the Emirates football.”

Ghorab added: "Even in the current circumstances and the current reality, we could have had a better team if it had been well prepared."

In turn, the former member of the Competitions Committee in the Football Association, Khaled Awad, stressed that it is necessary to take an overview of the decline of the Emirates sport in general and football in particular at all levels, whether clubs or teams, noting that the professional league declined in the last continental classification, Describing this as the worst position the UAE League has known since the application of professionalism, considering that the reason lies in the fact that the application of professionalism was done wrongly, pointing out that the main problem in the clubs is their priorities and the extent of their interest in the base and youth.

Khaled Awad pointed out that the clubs' budgets are spent on the first team only and in incorrect places, represented in the salaries of professionals, whom he described as unproductive, considering that things are dependent and according to circumstances.

For his part, the former international player and legal advisor Salem Hadid confirmed that the problem of the Emirates football lies in the mentality that runs the football system in general and its lack of acceptance of the opinions of the sports street, considering that all those who run the game system must respond to the pulse of the sports street, and that this matter caused a decline The results of the teams, and the solution to restructuring the entire football system, pointing to the significant decline in the professional league year after year.
