A Qatari club terminates Algerian Belaili's contract after scoring the goal of eliminating Qatar in the Arab Cup

Qatar club announced that it "by mutual consent" gave up its Algerian star Youssef Belaili, a day after he scored the winning goal for his country against host Qatar in the Arab Cup semi-final.

Qatar Club wrote on its official website, "The Qatar Sports Club management agreed with the Algerian professional Youssef Belaili to terminate the contract by mutual consent, and the procedures took place after consultations between the player and the club. The club's management provided all the success to the player in his next career."

Belaili had scored the dramatic goal of Algeria's victory over Qatar on Wednesday (2-1) in the 17th minute of the calculated time instead of wasted at Al Thumama Stadium, following up on a penalty kick that was blocked by the goalkeeper.

Belaili (29 years) stole the spotlight in the Arab Cup, where Algeria is competing with a large number of its main players, led by Riyad Mahrez, Manchester City player.

In the last match against Qatar, Belaili was chosen as the best player in the match, and he scored a goal in the quarter-finals from about forty meters against Morocco.

Algeria will play the Arab Cup final on Saturday against Tunisia at Al Bayt Stadium.

The Algerian newspaper Al-Shorouk quoted Hafeez, the father and business manager of the player, whose contract with Qatar extended until next June, that he "plans to transfer Balayli to a major European club before the start of the African Nations Cup finals on January 9."

In turn, Blaili wrote on his Instagram account, "Thank you very much to Qatar Club for the moments I spent by your side, and a big thank you to the fans and the management. I am now a free player."

Blaili was close to putting an end to his career after he was suspended in 2015 for two years due to cocaine use, which led to the termination of his contract with the Algerian club USM Algiers, after attempts by his lawyer to prove that the cocaine drug was put in his water pipe without his knowledge.

After leaving the dark tunnel, the sun shone again in the player's sky with his contract with the French club Angers headed by his compatriot Said Chaaban, but his lack of confidence in coach Stephane Moulin prompted him to leave the team and return to Africa in 2018 from the gate of his former team, Esperance Sportive de Tunis.

His pivotal role was in Esperance's victory in the African Champions League twice, in 2018 and 2019, so his shares rose and his return to the national team became a popular demand for the Algerian fans.

Despite the reluctance of local officials, coach Jamal Belmadi seized him and gave him confidence on the left hall at the expense of star Yassine Brahimi, and he repaid him with a game and two goals that gave Algeria its second title in the continental competition in 2019 in Egypt.

But my playley and problems did not part.

The Saudi Al-Ahly trip for 3 million euros ended with conflicts with the coach and management in 2019, so his move to Qatar Club in November 2020 coincided with his reaching the stage of maturity.
